I'm an awarded conceptual portrait and fashion photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I graduated in 2016 from the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography with a degree in Visual Communication, with a major in photography. My work counters popularized representations of black people and Africa, I do this by creating imagery that places black people at the centre; my work celebrates blackness and is a reflection of the love that I have for my kin.
I create from a place of love and unapologetic blackness; I believe that's it's my responsibility to make imagery that contributes positively to my community because representation is important, brown girls and boys need to see themselves as beautiful and possible.
