Let’s begin with an overview of what a videographer is and what exactly their job includes. <\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A videographer is a person who is responsible for recording live, video content of events or anything on the basis of a small video production. Their work focuses mainly around documentaries, weddings, commercials, and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although videography is still a fairly disguised occupation in the US, it is a growing profession led by the drive enforced to the developing industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may be thinking \u2013 isn’t a videographer the same as a cinematographer? <\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Well, no. The undeniable difference between the two is that a videographer uses electronic media types, such as streaming media, a hard disk, or a videotape. A cinematographer on the other hand, records content for films and known motion pictures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The difference is a cinematographer aims his skill-set around the art and science of making a movie. While a videographer focuses on recording events, and content for smaller projects. Videographers often have limited resources available to them, resulting in their creativity and time management being heavily questioned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, let’s get to it <\/strong><\/em>\u2013 wha<\/em><\/strong>t do consumers in the US think about Videographers?<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Videographer is an uncommon word in the US, with its occurrence rate placed at 0.3 times per every 100,000 words. After rating the fundaments of the ‘videographer’ word, it is seen that the general population has a negative and sad association with it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When projecting emotions filled with excitement, the word ‘videographer’ has a 7% rate of enduring a slightly emotional connotation. However, the connotation is the result for increased anxiety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public strongly believes that videographers carry neither strong gentleness or dominance. Furthermore, ‘videographer’ is perceived as a fairly concrete word carrying a slightly masculine connotation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Venn Diagram, above, collects the insights into the emotional dimensions presented by a videographer. The three dimensions which are taken into account include: powerful, emotional, and happy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diagram aims at presenting which associations can express different emotions at the same time. The words which express all emotions strongly include: entertainer, talented, wed, dancer, and limo. Based on these five words, only three \u2013 entertainer, talented, and wed \u2013 touch on the scope of a videographers work. As a result, the coverage of these words leads to believe that not much is known about videographers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flower graph depicted above, begins its observation by placing the seed-word, ‘videographer’, in the centre. Words that are closer to the middle, present a stronger relation to the word ‘videographer’. Thus, they fulfil the goal score as presented in the bottom right of the graph. In this case, the goal is to connect common words to the seed-word. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To break this down a little more, keep in mind that the colours used in the flower graph indicate mood. Green reflections are happiness, whilst red present a sad mood, and white neutral. The size of the associated words reflects the commonness of the word through the US. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But wait, what does this information show us?<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To present effective marketing communication in the US, the ideas surrounding videographers must be shared through common words. Through this, the message is communicated in a way in which everyone can relate to. An example of great words to apply are video, photo, and professional due to their common usage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, that whilst uncommon words are good for capturing attention, more common words \u2013 that people also understand \u2013 can help communicate the message in a more understandable formatting. Steer away from cameraman, videographer, and cinematographer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what can we conclude? What do people in the US really think about videographers?<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The overall tone which surrounds the people in the US and their opinion towards videographers is confusion. This can be seen through the misunderstanding of the professional roam surrounding the craft of a videographer. The answer for this misunderstanding is not knowing how to interpret the word, and only fully understanding the background when seeing associated terms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, it can also be seen through the overlapping of all three emotions in the words presented in the Venn Diagram. The reason being, that some of the words touch upon the ideas of videography, however only in a vague way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interest appears to be present, due to the positivity surrounding key words \u2013 professional, wed, and photography. However, the anxiety kicks in when glancing at the idea of it being a freelance career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
