“Exploring South America: from Chile to Bolivia” by Carolina Isella<\/a> captures her captivating journey through South America. The photo project reflects her passion for travel and nature. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Milan-based photographer Carolina Isella<\/a> is passionate about traveling and surrounding herself with creativity. She acknowledges that capturing extraordinary moments requires a constant chase for the right light and unique moments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion and curiosity for nature and exploration are reflected in her photo project, “Exploring South America: from Chile to Bolivia”<\/strong><\/em> \u2014 where deciding where to go was purely ruled by her emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After receiving an email from Mapify, Carolina was handed the opportunity to organize a trip with a friend to their preferred travel location. Living every explorer’s dream, she decided to visit a continent she had never been to before \u2014 South America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan was to begin the journey in Chile, before venturing to Patagonia and Bolivia. The duo spent two weeks in the north and two weeks in the south. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a long flight, Carolina escaped to the north of Chile to discover the Atacama Desert. Deciding to experience the desert on their own, Carolina and her friend rented a car and camped out below the stars for a few nights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Atacama Desert in fact is one of the best places in the world to look at the stars because the light pollution is very low and you practically never go below 2000 meters of altitude.<\/p>Carolina Isella<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Having experienced the desert area in their own way, Carolina had witnessed places never before seen in books or documentaries. One of which was bathing lagoons, Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache, famous for both its turquoise water and the high percentage of salt in the water \u2014 which allows you to float. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While wandering around and capturing the landscapes, Carolina grew a deep fascination towards the endless roads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing their journey to southern Bolivia, they visited places featured in National Geographic \u2014 such as Colodara, Lagoon, and the Uyuni Salt Desert. Having woken up at 4 am, Carolina traveled to the top of Isla Incahuasi, to enjoy the sunrise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After capturing the key sights in Bolivia, the duo continued their travels to the famous region of Patagonia. Following a 5-hour flight from San Pedro to Punta Arenas and a 3-hour car ride to Torres del Paine National Park, the next leg of the journey began. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realizing the difference between the climate in the north and south, they needed a few days to acclimatize. After adjusting to the climate, they set out on a 93km hiking trail which was to be completed in 7 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trek ran through the entire national park, including the famous “W circuit.” After coming across a grey glacier halfway through, Carolina witnessed many impressive photography opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The images she captured perfectly reflect her two passions \u2014 photography and adventure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
