Photographer Jonathan Knowles<\/a> is a still life photographer. He recently challenged the concept of motion within the construction of still life photos in the work series: Trajectories and Slime.

Most of the time, a still life is not just about the objects that are pictured. It is the negotiating dance between objective items and subjective processes, nature and culture, tradition and innovation, and reality and illusion. Therefore, still life photography can be an extremely powerful art form – just like painting.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In “Trajectories”<\/strong> Jonathan presents fast-moving sporting objects in an unorthodox way. By slicing and isolating the subject matter, he invites us to witness the unique journey of objects as they move through time and space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second ingenious series Slime,<\/strong> which is inspired by the  Surrealist work of Salvador Dali, \u2018Slime\u2019, it embarks on a contemporary exploration of the irrational and creative mindset we experience when dreaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The slime moves through obscure, isolated environments. As a result, we are encouraged to question the narrative of the subject. Though apparently static, the slime is ever-moving and exploring its own space. It continually adopts different moods and forms, depending on its structural challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
