Matias Vieira Sousa is an 18 year old visual artist, originally from Madeira Island but currently living in Lisbon where he is attending a college degree in photography. With a huge passion for the visual and artistic world that was felt present from a very early age, he explores different expressive languages and areas that seem like a comfortable space for him to explore and create. Mainly addressing photography and videography, but also painting and installation. For Matias, one of the most important aspects in his work / creation ethic is playing and manipulating light as well as meeting the needs that each work of art requires, not subjecting himself to the limitation of doing things in one way.
