Creativity cannot always be planned. Perhaps the best results come from moments where it is least expected. Alfield Reeves represents just this in his photo essay, Experimentations. Take a look at the beauty captured through embracing creativity.

On February 16, 2020, Alfield Reeves photographed the most recent instalment of his photo essay “Experimentations.” The photo essay began when Alfield and another photographer, Nancy (@fance.nance), booked a studio space to experiment different photography styles with various models. The photo series truly shows the basis of embracing creativity and welcoming new ideas.

This all started with me desiring to learn how to do studio photography, mainly with off-camera lighting.

The photo essay way therefore launched without much planning and was a complete surprise. “Experimentations” is currently on its fourth installment and has developed from just experimenting different techniques. “Experimentations” is also the outlet in which Alfield will test new visions and ideas with various creatives for specific clients.

This photo essay truly shows that sometimes the best results are those from spontaneity.

The ideal agenda for these experimental photo shoots is to have fun, and share the mutual passion which is to create content, and network with others who are excellent at their craft.

Alfield describes it as the perfect opportunity to release all the creativity that has been collecting. And, of course, it is always a perk when fun experimentations results in the perfect creative outcome. Some clients which have featured and published shots from these experiments include Vogue Italia, PICTON Magazine, Burlington, and CRWN Magazine, to name a few.
