Finding a good photographer doesn’t always mean that it is the right one for what you are aiming for. Many factors influence the selection process for a brand, whether it be the creative style, the atmosphere created amongst set, or the location of the shooting and the photographer.

WONDA Swim is an honest sports and swimwear brand from Hamburg, but born and raised in Lisbon. Keen on portraying their vision to become a brandmark for the power of transparency, true relationships, and empathy, WONDA hopes to create a better and more human future.

Through the partnership with Cherrydeck, WONDA was presented with a preselection of photographers which were available within the time of the project at the location required, saving the brand much time and effort.

Today, we talk with Teresa Brouwers, co-founder and creative director of WONDA Swim, about her collaboration and experience with Cherrydeck. Kim Flint and Teresa Brouwers founded WONDA Swim based off of their similar values towards life and their passion for nature. Upon witnessing the dramatically polluted oceans and the hurtful impact that fast fashion has, the two decided to help re-define sustainability through the production of bikinis from recycled ocean plastic.

In August 2020, WONDA Swim was faced with the challenge of establishing a natural, but at the same time professional atmosphere for their keep-it-forever collection. The vision was to express the concept of the product through working with real bodies, and girls with little experience in shootings. The aim was to show the underlying message that different bodies need different bikini types.

With the creative market flooded with talented photographers, it was difficult to find and filter the creative which could best bring across the brand’s visions. Due to the market being so non-transparent, WONDA Swim decided to work with Cherrydeck to make the hunt for a photographer more enjoyable.

According to Teresa, it was really easy to find the right match through the presentation of a list of potential creatives with links to their portfolios:

Cherrydeck took over all the research that we would have done if we were alone in finding the right photographer for our project.

Cherrydeck is that missing piece in the puzzle and thus literally takes its part in getting the result you want.

Not only did the process of finding the right photographer happen in a short duration of time but the actual project did too. Upon finding the right photographer for the job, the WONDA team connected with the chosen photographer Leo Rohrsetzer to begin the project.
