Chad is a professional commercial photographer based in the Southernmost island in the Caribbean archipelago, Trinidad and Tobago. An engineer by training, he came to photography in his mid-40’s leaving behind a career in manufacturing. He’s spent the last few years opening up his “left brain” to creative ideas like composition, styling, exposure, lighting and colour theory and realising there’s actually still a lot of math and science involved. Chad’s work has primarily been commercial with a focus on food and product photography. He enjoys working closely with smaller artisanal clients to put a spotlight on their unique stories. His personal projects are mostly centered around documenting the rich heritage of Trinidad & Tobago’s cultural diversity and its annual Carnival. More and more, he is using video to add another layer to his storytelling. Some of his work has appeared in local publications such as Caribbean Beat, The Intellectual, The HSE Quarterly and M People (Trinidad). When he isn’t on the job, he can be found volunteering with the Trinidad & Tobago Photographic Society, flying off to explore new countries, running and hiking in the wild outdoors or in the kitchen cooking something that usually requires cheese or soy sauce as ingredients.
