Kris Connor's love for photography has expanded over 30 years, going back to when he found his grandfather's Canon AE-1 in the back of a closet and loaded his first roll of film. Little did he know this would lead to a career that has taken him from the White House to celebrity chefs' Michelin-star restaurants to the flooded streets of Bangkok, Thailand. He is an award-winning NYC-based celebrity portrait, corporate portrait, and food photographer with over 20 years of experience. Food Network, Deloitte, Tiffany's, Warner Brothers' Picture, ASICS shoes, AdWeek, TRESEMME, McDonald's, Capital One Bank, OK! Magazine, Casamigos Tequila, and the Gates Foundation are just a few brands that have made it into his extensive client list. Kris has had the pleasure of photographing many of the world's most influential and famous people, politicians, and world-renowned chefs including, Drew Barrymore, the late Chadwick Boseman, Jeff Goldblum, Presidents Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and Barack Obama, and celebrity chefs such as Carla Hall, Wolfgang Puck, and Bobby Flay. He spent the first part of his career as a photojournalist covering politics in Washington DC before switching genres and moving to New York City to focus on Celebrity portraiture and food. However, his roots in photojournalism can still be seen in portraiture as he strives to tell the story of his subjects. "I like to create a series of portraits to tell a story," Kris says. "You can see this, especially in my Judy Joo's project, as I combined chef's portraits, BTS, architecture, and beautiful images of the dishes to tell a well-rounded story." If you already guess from his logo and Beers & Beerds project, Kris has a vast, and we mean massive, obsession with beards. It all began when he returned from Thailand in the winter of 2011 and decided to grow his beard. His goal is to enter his first beard competition this coming year. You don't know that Kris was born with achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. He was a 1 in 10,000 chance as his parents weren't born with the condition. But, at ten years old, Kris started a five-year journey through four painful limb-lengthening operations. Then, finally, growing to a height of 5" 2 over his predicted height of 4" 3. It gave him an interesting perspective of the world and a few advantages in the photo game. Kris Connor is ready for any challenge you bring him and is excited to work with you on your next campaign or editorial.
