Douglas has worked on long term stories in the United States, Europe and Asia for a variety of publications. After graduating in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, in 2013 he had one of his final images being selected for the “AOP Open Awards,” in London. He moved to Chongqing, China to focus on long term projects. Covering stories like LGBTQ issues and religion in a country where personal freedoms are seldom valued. With an anthropological interest in people as well as their social issues he based himself in Chongqing for 4 years, 2014 to 2018. He has been exhibited in the U.K., the U.S.A., France, Germany, Switzerland, and China both online and in print. Photographs from “你好 化龙桥-Hello, Hualongqiao,” were exhibited alongside works by prominent artists and photographers across Asia and the world. A book was later published as a result of the success of the exhibition. His publications include: Paris Match, Bloomberg Business, Time Magazine, Al Jazeera, South China Morning Post, Marianne, Pèlerin Magazine, Brut America, Buzzfeed, Edge of Humanity Magazine, Courrier Japan, Atlas Obscura, 6 Mois, The Republican, MassLive, MSN, Bloomberg News, U.S. News & World Report, Washington Times, Stars and Stripes, Miami New Times, The Republic, Daily Journal and the Herald Standard, etc.
