Euan Robertson

Photographing music saved me from life as an accountant. A boring degree and an inherited camera sparked something in me that has led me to working as a photographer for over a decade. I've progressed to photograph more than bands, but the drive to create images with energy and atmosphere has stayed with me. In 2023, my portrait of musician 'Paque' was a finalist in the Scottish Portrait Awards, featuring in it's exhibition and I was also named 'Photographer of the Year' at the Scottish Trad Music Awards. My biggest love is in photographing people. Whether in my studio, on set or on location, the aim is always to create an image to make people pause. Narratives and evocative elements feed into this, as does my pursuit of story-led images. I have excellent technical skills and, more importantly in my mind, excellent communication which helps me navigate busy sets, crews and talent, to ensure we come away with outcomes to be proud of.
