Aquí estamos en el centro de los días explores the Días de plaza, Oaxaca's rotating traditional markets rooted in pre-Hispanic tianguis. Inspired by a story by Elena Garro, these 2023 photographs weave dreamlike moments of tenderness with the harsh reality of the animal and meat trade.

Aquí Estamos en el Centro de los Días

Sueño is an intimate account of my mother's illness: she was diagnosed with ALS in 2020, during the first lockdown. As her only child and caregiver, I documented the gradual loss of her body and voice and the weight of daily care, until her death in November 2021.

Sueño

A single dark red rose in bloom against a dark background.

Two elderly women share a quiet moment at an outdoor market stall.

A man carries a small pink piglet in a bag at an indoor market.

A person holds a bouquet of colorful roses wrapped in newspaper.

A person's face seen through textured, frosted glass, creating a mysterious and abstract effect.

A woman with hair dye on her hair and face, resting her chin on her hands.

A hand pulls back a shower curtain, revealing an arm.

A view through a window screen shows a blurred outdoor scene with green foliage and a soft sky.
