Sueño is an intimate account of my mother's illness: she was diagnosed with ALS in 2020, during the first lockdown. As her only child and caregiver, I documented the gradual loss of her body and voice and the weight of daily care, until her death in November 2021.

Aquí estamos en el centro de los días explores the Días de plaza, Oaxaca's rotating traditional markets rooted in pre-Hispanic tianguis. Inspired by a story by Elena Garro, these 2023 photographs weave dreamlike moments of tenderness with the harsh reality of the animal and meat trade.
