Hicham El Banine Hicham El Banine is a Moroccan-Portuguese fashion photographer and visual artist based in Viseu, Portugal, working internationally across fashion, editorial, street style, runway, backstage, portraiture, and people & lifestyle photography. Born in Meknès, Morocco, Hicham developed his photographic practice in 2014 and entered the fashion industry in 2017 while living in Brazil. Since then, his work has evolved through fashion productions, editorial projects, fashion weeks, runway shows, backstage environments, street style, and portraiture, with a strong focus on people, movement, culture, and contemporary life. His fashion photography has taken him across Portugal, France, Italy, Denmark, Brazil, Morocco, and other locations, with work connected to fashion events and productions in Lisbon, Porto, Paris, Milan, Copenhagen, São Paulo, and Marrakech. His experience includes photographing street style, runway shows and backstage environments during fashion weeks, as well as fashion meetings, designer presentations, models, and creative productions. Among the fashion events and platforms connected to his work are Lisbon Fashion Week, Portugal Fashion in Porto, Fashion Meeting in São Paulo, fashion events in Paris and Milan, Copenhagen Fashion Week, and fashion productions in Morocco, including Marrakech and Morocco Fashion Week. Hicham’s photography has received recognition in Morocco and Portugal. In 2014, he received recognition in a European Union photography competition in Morocco, and his work was subsequently presented in exhibitions and projects connected with COP22 in Morocco. In 2021, he received third prize in the Portugal–Morocco “Olhares Cruzados” photography competition for his photograph Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. His work has appeared in publications, collective exhibitions, photography platforms, and international fashion projects. His experience living and working across Morocco, Brazil, and Portugal contributes to a visual perspective shaped by different cultures, people, movement, and contemporary fashion. Today, Hicham El Banine works as an international fashion photographer and visual artist, with a practice centered on fashion, people, culture, and visual storytelling.
