Kmar Douagi

Paris, France

Fashion & Beauty | People & Lifestyle

Kmar Douagi sees and lives photography as a kind of diary of his life that grows and evolves according to his experiences. Her work, always very personal, has been influenced above all by his ability to see the world with a fresh, unrestricted eye. A true jack of all trades, and initiated to photography from a very young age, she first considered styling, surrounded by the strongest and most affectionate figures of her childhood, her grandparents, who introduced her to sewing and DIY. She specializes in leather goods and jewelry design, but the artistic constraints imposed by her background are a source of frustration that her free spirit struggles to bear. With her degree in hand, it is the sudden loss of her best friend that pushes her to re-evaluate her life, her vision of the world and of art. She returns to her first love, photography, and switches to film, which is a new challenge for her. Kmar becomes Hichem Driss' intern and learns a lot about organization and logistics, but her spirit, always curious, pushes her towards other projects. Ranging from video editing to assisting on humanitarian or film projects, Kmar feeds off this diversity in her photographs and prefers to have a strong connection with the subjects of these photos. Whether they are landscapes or people, they are always imbued with the love, friendship or sincerity that they inspire him. Director Alejandro Jodorowsky has greatly influenced her path and we find in Kmar's work the imprint of his philosophy of life. Armed with a silver camera she inherited from her father, Kmar is currently crisscrossing the streets of Paris, where she settled a few months ago, having been attracted here by the director of the Sacred Mountain, who has also chosen to live in the City of Light.
