Massimiliano completed his photographic studies in Barcelona where has undertaken the majority of his artistic projects. The influence of his earlier studies in Literature and Philosophy (La Sapienza University, Rome) is evident in the density of the discourse of his work. Despite this, it would be his training as a yacht designer that would finally awaken his interest in photography. The camera obscura and old techniques such as cyanotype, the wet collodion plate process or pinhole photography form part of his repertory, although he has also delved into video art with his work “Crisis” in 2012, selected for the B.A.N.G Festival and the C.C.C.B. Pantalla Global. His other video pieces are “Overlying” (2017), “592 Windows (Atotxa Tower loop 2020)”, and “Europa si Scioglie” (on going). In “The Double Identity of the Corner”,a photographic serie and photobook he self-published in 2014, his exploration of urban space offers a view full of impressions and feelings, as “66 Images of My Courtyard” or “Vanishing Society” do. He attended several artistic events such as Atlántica Colectiva XIII Bienall of Photography 2015, Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña '16, Talent Latent SCAN '16, Hotusa Gran Marina de Fotografía'17, Trieste PhotoDays '18, International Photography Grant '18, Transversalidades Photography without Border 2020, LensCulture Crtyics Choise 2021.
