I am a freelance photojournalist based in Spain where I live since 2005, before I worked for the Associated Press in Dominican Republic and the newspapers Listín Diario and El Caribe covering riots, sports, spot news, political summits, etc. and I made some collaborations with American newspapers like The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The Miami Herald, Star-Telegram among others. I also worked for magazine UNO and Oh! Magazine and for the Publishing House of Magazines that included publications on fashion, architecture, education, etc. For five years I was a correspondent for the Costa Rican publishing group Red-Castle Group focused on economic and tourist magazines. In Spain I’ve worked for Associated Press and Grupo Vocento (La Voz De Cádiz) and as a freelance regular contributor to several publications. I received a scholarship from the Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano – FNPI, (New Iberoamerican Journalism Foundation) to develop and teach a photojournalism workshop in Guayaquil, Ecuador and similar ones in Dominican, Spain and Argentina. I won the prize Journalistic Excellence Arturo J. Pellerano Alfau among others photography and I have been part of several individuals and collectives exhibitions as well as audiovisual projects and books. I have worked in different places of the world developing commissions and reportages or giving continuity to personal projects. I teach photoworkshops and consultancies on political photography. My photos have been published in some of the most important newspaper and magazines and has been the subject of several awards. At the moment I live in Cadiz to the south of Spain a coastal city and in an enviable geographical enclave from where I move to anywhere.
