Niccolo’ Celesti’s love and passion for taking photographs started in 1998 when he travelled to South Italy to shoot some old fishermen in a little sea-side village. Then he started assisting fashion photographer Roberto Quagli who gave him the opportunity to work for international brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo and others. In the following years Niccolo’ moved into the Army, became a naval photographer and a year later he worked for the Andrea Faggi studio in Florence and in 2001 he travels to Africa and later to Yugoslavia and across Europe in order to develop and explore his reportage techniques. In 2004 he moved to London as a freelance photographer and enrolled at the London College of Communication to study photography. There he created two exhibitions of photos he took whilst travelling across Europe as well as images from a reportage in Tanzania in 2005. For three more years Niccolo’ worked in the London fashion scene, music, portraits and has been part of many artistic projects and exhibitions. After a trip to India in 2007 for a personal project, Niccolo’ spent several months in Colombia, where he not only produced various reportages (including a project on the guerrilla cocaine production), but also worked in the capital – Bogota’ – for top designers Lina Cantillo, Elia Abuchaibe, Tina Neumann. Back in Florence Niccolo’ has worked as a freelance photojournalist and represented from photo agency Massimo Sestini News Pictures. His work has been published in many magazines and newspapers as Der Spiegel, Corriere della Sera, Panorama, Chi, Corriere Fiorentino and many more. Niccolo’ is now based in Florence, Italy, represented from Photo agency Milestone Media and available for assignments world-wide.
