Ronald Hope
Sequim, WA, USA
Editorial & Documentary | Nature & Animals | Travel & Landscape
Ronald Hope is a photojournalist and editorial photographer based along the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. His work is focused on the natural environment and our relationship to it. This has ranged from how we recreate in it to how our dependency on natural resources shapes our communities.
Born in rural Oregon, Ronald spent his youth learning photography from his neighbors, a couple of retired freelance photographers. These formative years were spent photographing nature in its most pristine form, those places unchanged by humans. Later in life his work would come to examine how we have changed the earth's landscape for our societies needs, and how the presence, or absence, of these resources influences the culture of the people who live there.
