Rosa Lacavalla is an Italian documentary photographer and visual artist based in Bologna, Italy. She graduated in Art Graphic (Bachelor Degree) and Photography (Postgraduate Degree) at Fine Arts Academy of Bologna in Italy. In the meanwhile, she moved to England to study Photography at Coventry University. In 2016 she worked as an assistant for an internship for the collective Cesura and in 2017 her work titled Focu has been published on EyesOpen! Magazine - Issue #11 dedicated to young talents. She joined various collective exhibitions in different countries, both as a photographer than a video artist, between those the Lishui Photo Festival, PIP Festival in Pingyao (China), the Brighton Festival, Festival Fotografia Europea and so on. Her video artwork titled Vorrei girare il cielo come le rondini has been selected and featured by C41 Magazine, Undercurrent (Brooklyn, NY) and Colectivo Equis (Mexico) in 2020. She currently works as a freelance photographer. Specialized in reportage and documentary photography, her personal research is based on different cultures around the world, often focusing on small stories of daily life. Her work is placed in the dimension of listening, ready to perceive the atmospheres and circumstances that are created around.
