Steve R. Young

My name is Steve Young and I'm an academically trained art photographer based some of the year in Valencia, Spain. My work has been both commercial and assignment based project work that I exhibit in group and solo shows. The next one lined up is Rotterdam photo festival this year. My subject matter is broad although I work commercially with food and events and privately in telling narrative stories about existential and humanitarian themes. I have worked extensively in landscape and portraiture as well. I use staged photography and explore ideas and concepts through the visual medium. My time in Valencia is spent doing photo work and getting on with other projects. I also travel to Scotland and work there each year. I've been working with photography in one form another as a student and as a practitioner for around fifteen years. I'm a fluent Spanish speaker and know the city back to front, the bars, restaurants are my home, although I am not a native of the city. I also live in Britain as well. I have penchant for the story telling side of photography, wether that is food, landscape or documentary.
