Velasco & Hu is a creative duo based in Madrid, formed by Carlos Velasco (Madrid, 1981) and Kate Hu (Taipei, 1982). As advertising photographers by day and fine art photographers by night, we shoot still life, portrait, fashion, lifestyle and travel. Some of our fine art photographic series have been recognized by International Photography Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards, etc. We also make films, commercial spots, documentary, short films and fashion films. Some of our films have been officially selected and screened at several international festivals: Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York, Barcelona Fashion Film Festival, Dansmuseet in Stockholm, Lisbon InShadow ScreenDance, Berlin Commercial Film Festival, Matadero Centre for Contemporary Creation in Madrid, etc. We love to tell stories between reality and fiction through photography and films.
